Tiny Art ~ for June

What do these tiny flowers mean around us?

June’s collection is about the meaning that sits behind each bloom and bringing that
meaning to the walls of our homes. Tiny style.

The Pansy

From the French word, pensée, meaning "to think" or "thought", the pansy flower traditionally symbolizes remembrance, loving feelings and contemplation. The blue pansy representing faithfulness most of all and one of my favourites. It was also quoted famously by Ophelia in Shakespeare’s Hamlet, “There’s pansies, that’s for thoughts”.

In the victorian language of flowers gifting a pansy meant the sender was thinking of the recipient.

A little flower full of love and thoughts.

Acrylic on heavyweight rag cotton paper.
